Attacked with “malicious software”! And I have no idea how to get the spammy gunk off. Some evil-doer has made a mess of things with the badware. And it’s not underwear. Anyway, sorry the site is down for now.

words again
August 6, 2010
After I overdosed in literary land (Bennington), I didn’t pick up any books for awhile. I read news, magazines, web pages. But I just began reading Light Years by James Salter and I’ve remembered why I like to read. In case you might be reminded, also…
“He had soft hands, and no sense of money, almost none at all. He was an albino in that, a freak. A Jew with out money is like a dog without teeth. The urgency of it, yes, he often knew that but its presence was all accident, like rain, it came or it did not” (14).
“Life is weather. Life is meals. Lunches on a blue checked cloth on which salt has spilled” (25).
“A perfect day begins in death, in the semblance of death, in deep surrender. The body is soft, the soul has gone forth, all strength, even breath” (35).
klicker’s strawberry acres of walla walla….

Klicker’s Strawberries are the tastiest strawberries I’ve ever tasted. According to KlickerStrawberry.com, their strawberries are famous for flavor. They grow at the base of the Blue Mountains, and they are still owned by the Klicker family (fourth generation).
We bought this 7 lb tub of strawberries on Sunday. It is now Tuesday, and I think they will be all gone tomorrow. Yowza.
Klicker’s also has the tastiest pickles I’ve ever tasted. The Sweet Fire ones. With jalapenos. My parents had a dozen of them shipped to New Mexico, that’s how good they are.
